Once it is on your phone, measuring, pricing and writing the quote work without signal. Only sending needs a connection, like any WhatsApp message.
Your data, your control
Your clients, prices and quotes are kept on your phone. In the beta, nothing about your clients is sent to anyone, including me.

Coatwise comes from years of quoting jobs in the Helderberg: on site, on a phone, with the client waiting for a number.
Features
Everything below works in the current beta. Coatwise never suggests a price: it uses the rates you enter and shows how it reached every number. The screens show example text and numbers; you write your own terms.
Enter the area and the coats. Coatwise works out the litres and the tins, using the coverage you set, and shows the working step by step.
Walls, ceilings, doors, skirting, exteriors, roofs, waterproofing and extra work, priced by surface or by day. Paint, consumables and travel are added in.
The quote becomes a clear message: your business name, the scope, each line priced, how you get paid, and your guarantee in your own terms. You can edit it before it goes.
WhatsApp opens with the quote written. You read it and tap send. The quote is saved, and Coatwise lists who to follow up after 3 and 5 days (you can change the days), with a message ready. Reminders can go into your phone calendar.

Coatwise is built by a painter, for painters. Your clients and your prices are your business. So Coatwise is designed so that nobody else can see them, including me.
Your clients' names, phone numbers and addresses, your prices, your quotes and your history.
Sell your data, use it to train AI, or use it to compete with you.
Testers hear about it from me before it happens.
Your first name, WhatsApp number, email, area and answers are kept in a private Google Sheet that only I open. I use them to choose testers and to contact you about the test. If you are accepted, your email is added to the sign-in list for the app. To have your details deleted, message me on WhatsApp at any time.
Your data stays on your phone. You can save a backup file of everything first.

About
I'm Elton Faduco. I've been a painter for more than six years. I started in Mozambique, and since 2022 I've worked across the Strand and Helderberg, under my own name, FADUCO. I quote every job myself: on site, on my phone, with the client waiting for a number.
Alongside painting, I studied graphic design. In 2024 I started studying AI and automation, and in November 2025 I started my own brand for that work, Tlharix. Tlharix is still being built, and so is Coatwise. Coatwise is where the two meet: a tool for the part of the job I know from the inside.
The beta is small on purpose. I want to see painters use it on real jobs, listen to what gets in the way, and change it from there.
Coatwise does the sums. You set the price.

Yes, once it is installed on your phone. Measuring, pricing, the tins and the message all work without signal. To send the quote, WhatsApp needs signal, like any message.
You sign in with your email and a short code sent to that email. After that you stay signed in on that phone for a while, so you do not need a new code every time.
Your clients, prices and quotes stay on your phone. Nobody else can see them, including me. Only feedback you choose to send, and usage counts if you switch them on, leave your phone. Read the full privacy promise.
Yes. Coatwise is free during the test. No card or payment details are asked for.
Painters and painting contractors who send quotes every week. For the first group I give priority to painters who send 3 or more quotes a week, and I mix iPhone and Android, solo painters and teams.

No. You open a link in your phone's browser and add Coatwise to your home screen. On iPhone, install it before you enter your prices, so your data is kept in the installed app.
Inside the app there is a Feedback button: write what happened and send it. Once a week we have a 15 minute chat. And you can message me on WhatsApp at any time.
No. Coatwise is a working name for the beta, and it will change before launch. The final name will be chosen with what we learn from the test.
When it changes, testers hear it from me first, with steps for moving their quotes.
